Instructor/Leader:
Jan Phillips
Cost - $2475

Trip Description

Ancient, colorful Orvieto is full of inspiration. Spend a week using that inspiration to fire your imagination and move your creativity to new heights. Photograph each day in different areas of this historic city. Jan will gently guide beginners and the more experienced to make photographs that are beautiful, compelling and metaphoric. The sounds, smells, sights and tastes of Italy will feed our bodies and souls throughout the week, as will the camaraderie of the group in each gathering where we show and tell and share our photographic tips.

Complementing your creative journey will be insights and exploration into the Italian culture. These experiences will serve as inspiration and material for the work you do with Jan. Your natural curiosity in a new place heightens your senses, makes you more aware, and brings a sharper focus to your art work. At the same time the very attention to detail you apply to your project will make you a more astute and appreciative observer of Orvieto and Italy, its culture, beauty and joy.

During the week enjoy an introduction to Italian culture, several wine tastings, and preparing a meal with an Italian chef. We will also play in the weekly market where fresh produce is brought in from the countryside, and tour Etruscan caves dating back to 800 B.C. Continental breakfasts and private baths come with your room in our serene convent B&B. This will be a most inspired, adventuresome week.
