Spend a week with international award winning teacher and author Lisa Walton exploring the textures, colors and details of beautiful Orvieto.
Gather inspiration from the textures of stones, designs from intricate mosaics, delicately crafted lace, local ceramics and wrought iron. Combine these with the glorious colors of the Italian countryside to create art pieces in fabric and paper you will treasure. Influenced by the beauty of Orvieto, you can either return home with a stash of Italian inspired fabrics or create a collage work of art using your original fabrics and papers.

Australian textile artist, Lisa Walton, has developed her unique style over the last twenty-two years. The majority of her quilts are designed to be hung on walls and display a rich use of texture and color using hand dyed and painted fabrics and bead embellishments. She has studied quilting and dyeing and bead embellishment techniques in the United States. Her work has been exhibited and awarded prizes in prestigious competitions in Australia and the U.S.
Lisa teaches all over Australia, the UK and Europe and uses her travels to constantly gather inspiration for her work from the colors and textures around her. She and her husband share a passion for food and love visiting the fresh food markets wherever they are traveling.
Lisa and Peter run their business Dyed and Gone to Heaven, producing wonderful hand dyed and painted fabrics tor textile artists all over the world.
Lisa has had two solo exhibitions as well as exhibited with other textile artists in traveling exhibitions worldwide. Her quilt projects are regularly published in major Australian quilting magazines and workshop projects on DVD.
Lisa is currently the Vice President of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) , an international organization with goals of spreading the word about Art Quilts.
