Oriveto with Taste

Trip Description
Spend a relaxed week in Orvieto participating in its twelfth annual “Orvieto With Taste” - a celebration of the traditional foods and wines of the region. The week is:

* Wine and food tastings in different locales
* Special dinners using traditional ingredients and recipes
* A full day cooking class outside of Orvieto
* A vineyard tour and wine tasting
* Community-wide market, food and wine tasting
* City restaurants providing special slow food menus
* Learning about the local culture

The trip is a combination of organized events and free time to explore on your own. In the spirit of Slow, it is a time to savor, to slow down, and to enjoy the richness of Italy. The city comes alive with a festival atmosphere doing what Italians do so well - enjoy la dolce vita!

Itinerary
Note, the final itinerary for the festival is not set until September, 2008. The following is a close approximation of the events and schedule.

September 28 - Arrive Orvieto
September 29 - Introduction to Italian culture food and wine
September 30 - Cooking class in Monterubiaglio
October 1 - Vineyard and olive mill visit with tastings
October 2 - Weekly market, Festival Dinner
October 3 - “The Walk of Taste” - savor food products of the
region, Festival Dinner
October 4 - “The Market of Taste” - local food fair, final dinner
October 5 - Depart Orvieto

Details
Cost - $2450. Fee includes seven nights double occupancy lodging and listed festival events. Single occupancy available for an additional cost. Travel costs are not included.
