Up Above the World So High
Dates: September 21 - 27, 2008
Instructor/Leader: Jane Powell
Trip Description
Work with Jane Powell and all the many resources and inspirations offered by Orvieto to create a most memorable painted, collaged and textured pedestal book. Orvieto serves as the resource for this book - one that has not been taught before. The book has a cone base, doors made from foam core, and is loaded with embellishments drawn from the week's experiences in Orvieto. The colors of Italy will serve as both inspiration and content for this memory catching project.
Visits to Orvieto's Etruscan caves, its stunning cathedral, and a nearby vineyard provide the raw material for the book.

Jane's first love in life, that started at a very young age, was oil painting and she continued on it for many years until she found out about rubber stamping, altered art, collage and assemblage.
